Live by Design – ACTIONS
Transformational change requires taking focused ACTIONS.
You may have big dreams to achieve and they may seem daring, challenging and farfetched. You may have tried achieving those dreams and failed or didn’t try at all. Now you are afraid, hesitating to take actions towards fulfilment because of the fear of failure or self-doubts or lack of confidence and that has become our default mode.
Our life and the actions we take are dictated by our subconscious mind which is driven by our habits, beliefs, biases. They have been formed over the years and reflect in our behaviours and actions, limiting our possibilities. As a result, we accepted life as it is and living in a false fallacy that this is the best that is possible.
Despite failures, limiting beliefs and biases, you CAN DO better.
You need to take control by taking action. Not just random actions but deliberate and focused ones.
Actions that are aligned to your purpose and goals will create the greatest opportunity for success.
STOP getting fixated with the idea that your current situation is the best you can have. Make success a habit and when it becomes a habit you would want more and more of it.
Success is addictive, but it doesn’t come that easy It’s a slow process that involves taking one step at a time, celebrating success and moving on to the next one. This requires clarity, commitment, and most importantly ACTIONS.
Key is to start simple and build your successes. It will not just make you feel good, but build confidence to move ahead towards your life goals. One step at a time.
Remember when your kids first started crawling and then took small steps before taking big steps and finally walking and running. How cautious they are at the beginning and they want to hold onto something to be able to walk on their own. They do fall and that’s natural, but that doesn’t stop them from trying again till they succeed.
You can’t win a marathon just by showing up on marathon day; you need to practice before that. At the same time you can’t practice running marathons by starting with the distance you intend to compete in and run like hell. You start small and slow and build up your stamina for big and fast and that’ how you build your confidence.
Transformational change through ACTIONS is a process to achieve that dream reality of yours not all at once but one focused step at a time. The process starts with defining your dream reality and committing to it to make that reality a possibility and ends with celebrating successes, not just the big ones but every success you have on your way to fulfilment. And of course, all this is backed with relevant tools, technique along with active support of a COACH.
It’s a journey to rise above the comfort zone and reach the new heights which always seemed distant but with continuous effort looks closer and achievable.

Impediments – Understand and manage your obstacles
Options – Design your options
Now – Do it now
Success – Celebrate each success
This is a journey with logical progression that will help you gain clarity on your purpose and goals, explore possibilities, overcome obstacles, create life options to choose from and above all hold you accountable for your actions and progress.
Anders Erkicsson & Robert Pool in their book “Peak” have nicely explained, “the solution is not to try harder but rather try differently”. They also talk about purposeful practice which is not about doing something repeatedly and you shall improve, rather a well-defined and focused approach towards specific goals (goals and not a goal, remember baby steps) and as you build on small successes you will get out of that shell you have created called the ‘comfort zone’. Getting past of each barrier that will come your way, you will gain confidence and the momentum to move forward toward the ultimate goal.
