Live by Design – Aspire

Does your daily routine excite you or make you feel trapped?

You get up in the morning, get ready for office and then spend a considerable amount of time in our office, have long meetings, never-ending discussions which most of the time have no outcomes. Does it make you feel frustrated, ask this question to yourself “what am I doing with my life”?

You fantasize about a dream job or a dream life and then reality strikes and you are back into your daily rut, yet another frustrating discussion or a meeting or living a life that’s dull and boring. At some point in time you finally surrender and that’s when life takes on Auto mode.

Well, if this is you then you are not alone. You are one of many who are feeling the same and doing things as it happens, living a good enough life.  In simple words you are basically stuck with your reality, feeling confused and maybe feeling worthless. In the beginning you probably liked what you are doing but as you went along you realized that this is not you and by that time you are stuck, wanting to transform your life, but simply stuck. You have accepted the status quo and no matter how hard you feel like changing your situation, you are unable to. You may have even tried, but are not getting anywhere.

We keep going on with daily routine life convincing ourselves that this is fine and this is the best that can happen to us despite being truly unhappy about it. Well, you have accepted that situation ‘the existing state of affairs’ and are just going with the flow.

Well, the choice is simple you can either accept your current reality and live with it or transform to a  better self.

Accepting the need to bring that transformational change is the first step to set the wheels into motion. It’s like putting your car in the first gear.

“To desire is to obtain; to aspire is to achieve” James Allen

Your journey to a transformational change begins when you ASPIRE to change your reality and to be a better version of you and this will motivate you to make that transformational change a reality. Obviously you need to take some actions as well.

“Aspiration” is a hope or ambition to achieve something. It’s a desire to be at a point where you feel that you have achieved something and most of all, you are happy. Happiness is not a one-point agenda it’s the wholesome happiness that counts. You can aspire to have the top of the line BMW or Mercedes or maybe a Rolls Royce and you may work towards getting it, but that will be a temporary happiness. What good will that temporary happiness be if you are screwed up in other aspects of life.

Happiness is incomplete if it’s not wholesome and with wholesome I mean that all the aspects of your life are in harmony and thriving. It is about understanding and living in harmony with all levels of existence. It’s all about designing your life that works for you.

According to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, self-actualization is the highest level need which is achieved when you are working to your true potential, level of self-fulfillment. According to Maslow only 2% of people would reach a state of self-actualization mostly because we are stuck in fulfilling other needs or there is no clarity on what that self-actualized life looks like.

There is no harm in aspiring to be rich or get a better car or a house, but if you really want to change your life for good then aspire to be happy on all the aspects of life that are important for you.

Your decisions, behaviors and actions are influenced by awareness and acceptance that the current situation is not acceptable to you and it needs to transform into something better.

This is part three of a series of eight posts. To know more about the transformation journey and the process watch out for the next post……
